The Thankful Garden

The Thankful Garden

Thanksgiving Day is quickly approaching here in the US.  Though I am thankful each and every day for my family and friends, this time of year makes me not only swoon with love for them, but also other things that make me giddy, like gardens.  I feel fortunate that gardens are such an integral part of my life, so thought it would be nice to make a list of those things I'm thankful for in my gardening world.

I am thankful for being able to teach garden design to talented college students each day.

I am thankful for being surrounded by people at work and at home that love plants.

I am thankful to have friends through the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Master Gardener Program, passionate garden club members and many fellow garden bloggers. I have found over and over again that they are generous souls that share their resources and wisdom freely.

I am thankful for the opportunity to share my love of garden design through presentations and workshops...and even more thankful that someone wants to listen and join the discussion.

I am thankful that I was finally brave enough to express my garden design ideas in my own style (and appreciate all the positive support along the way).

I am thankful for a snowy Midwest winter, where I can get a little bit of rest, so I can spend time dreaming about next year's garden ideas.

What are you thankful for in your garden world?
