Welcome back to another fabulous edition of THE PENCIL CASE! It's awesome to see you. Each issue focuses on a theme to encourage a fresh look at garden design and graphics, so this issue let's explore a bit about colored pencils!

COLORED PENCILS. 

If you'd like to add color to your garden designs, colored pencil is a great place to start. They are forgiving, easy to apply and economical. Start with any set of pencils, though make sure you have a good collection of greens.

A FEW TIPS:

• Create a color swatch before applying to paper.
• Limit the numbers of colors you use (less than 10, 5-7 is great).
• Keep pencil strokes at a consistent angle.
• Apply color lightly, then gently get darker where needed (like shadows).
