Welcome back to another awesome edition of THE PENCIL CASE!  Each issue focuses on a theme to encourage a fresh look at garden design and graphics. Today's inspiration is National Metal Day....oh yes!

HAPPY NATIONAL METAL DAY!

When I first stumbled upon this day I wasn't sure if it was celebrating the material or the music. Diving deeper I found it is indeed celebrating the music genre, but ironically this music was inspired by the material. A snippet from NATIONAL TODAY:

"The genre originated from industrial working class areas within the UK, where a number of factories process actual metal and steel. Early metal bands would reference the sound of these factories as a direct influence on their sound."

That's pretty cool.

The material metal has always been an integral part of many gardens whether it's used for furniture, walls, fences, edging, or sculpture. It ramps up both contemporary and traditional styles.

The music metal can be a funky garden theme, as you will find out later in this newsletter. Heavy metal as a music genre has a rich history that beautifully inspires an outdoor space.
