INTRODUCING

A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN DESIGN MEMBERSHIP
ENROLLMENT OPEN SEPTEMBER 19 through OCTOBER 1, 2023
This monthly membership is called THE GARDEN DESIGN COLLECTIVE. This is vibrant community where we learn about one garden design topic each month. This slower pace allows us to dive deep and explore new and familiar topics from different perspectives.
Garden design is such a large, exciting profession and I've always dreamed of focusing on one aspect at a time with a diverse group of fellow designers. Collectively, our diverse experiences strengthen our design perspective as a whole. The power of the group is amazing.

SLOW + STEADY
It's important to note that this membership will not cover all aspects of design in a short period like a course would. This will be slow and steady over many months.
View this membership as an extension of your design education (whether you've taken college classes, online classes or are self-taught through books). This space allows you to explore topics that you may not necessarily read on your own, plus provides a community so you can ask questions about your own design work and business.
HOW DOES THIS MEMBERSHIP WORK?

MONTHLY FORMAT
At the beginning of each month a new garden design topic is released. Content is shared the following ways:
Garden Design Guide (a pretty PDF)
An Educational Video (or other engaging content)
Simple Design Activity
Live Q+A
An Awesome Community (This includes all sorts of design topics, plus you can share your designs for feedback from peers)
As a bonus I often ask guest speakers to join us too.
This next round we'll also be starting a book club. These will not take place once a month, but rather parallel to our monthly content. We plan to read one to two books together per year, so we can keep up with new thoughts and processes within landscape design.
BROADER CATEGORIES
We will cover many garden design topics over many months, so I've created broader categories to organize everything as we progress.
Below are some of these broader categories, but please note that monthly topics will be more specific and fit into those. Over time each of these will continue to grow into a diverse and resourceful collection of garden design topics. These broader categories may change and grow as we progress through the membership.

Spatial Design
Overall layout of a garden

Planting Design
Organization of plant materials

Themes + Style
Concept development and historical influences

Design Principles

THE START OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Once you join, you will have access to the entire membership area. This includes the welcome section, online community, and DESIGN LIBRARY. You'll also fill out a questionnaire so I can learn about you + help with preparation of future materials. On October 5 we will have a formal welcome for everyone.
Our current members in THE GARDEN DESIGN COLLECTIVE are excited to meet you. They are currently learning about waterwise landscapes (that's the September topic!), so you're welcome to jump in and get oriented as we discuss this topic. There is no pressure about "getting caught up". Remember, this pace is slow and steady. Take in what you need as a designer and enjoy the discussions.

The Garden Design Collective has been a valuable source of inspiration and community to me as I continue in my garden design journey. I highly recommend it whether you are a new designer who is just starting out or a seasoned designer who is looking to invigorate your design skills and be inspired.

ln this membership, you'll learn so much in a supportive environment, and meet some truly talented designers that freely share their knowledge and experiences. I don't think you'll find anything else as fun and informative as the Garden Design Collective.

ENROLLMENT OPEN SEPTEMBER 19 through OCTOBER 1, 2023

In the Garden Design Collective, I love having a worldwide network of landscape designers to learn from, lean on and interact with when I'm feeling stuck on a design. It's an invaluable wealth of knowledge. Each month's deep dive topic teaches me something specific and useful.

All of the content, activities, and meetings in the Garden Design Collective have helped me refine my process and become a more competent, confident, and efficient designer. It has been an essential investment in myself and my business, and I highly recommend joining the community!
