INTRODUCING

A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN DESIGN MEMBERSHIP

ENROLLMENT OPEN JUNE 1-13, 2025

You’re not just learning garden design. You’re becoming a garden designer.

In the Garden Design Collective, you’ll join a vibrant, thoughtful community of aspiring and practicing designers who are passionate about growing their skills, their confidence, and their creative voice.

Each month, we focus on one garden design topic, giving you the time and space to really understand it. No overwhelm, no pressure...just steady, supportive progress alongside others who are learning too.

Garden design can feel big and intimidating at first. That’s why we explore one piece at a time—together. As you build your knowledge, you’ll also start seeing gardens (and yourself) in a whole new way.

Because becoming a designer isn’t about having all the answers...it’s about learning to see, to think, and to design with purpose. And you don’t have to do it alone.

SLOW + STEADY

The Garden Design Collective isn’t a fast-paced course that rushes you through every topic. It’s a steady, supportive space where you can grow your skills month by month...with time to think, ask questions, and truly understand what you’re learning.

Think of it as a long-term companion to your design education...whether you’ve taken classes, read all the books, or are just starting out on your own. This membership gives you the structure to explore topics you might not dive into on your own and the community to help you apply those ideas to your real-life design work.

You don’t have to do it all at once. You just have to keep going. That’s how designers are made.

YOUR TIME COMMITMENT

There’s no one right way to be part of the Garden Design Collective. Whether you’ve got 30 minutes or a few hours each month, you’re still showing up for your growth as a designer.

You might simply read the monthly Garden Design Guide (about 30 minutes). You might try the hands-on activity (1–3 hours). You might tune in to our live meetup or guest speaker session with a cup of coffee (1–2 hours). Or you might do all of it...this month or the next.

Think of the Collective as a resource you can return to again and again. Dive into our growing library of past topics, ask questions, join conversations, and connect with designers from around the world.

Use it in the way that fits your life and trust that every step you take is shaping you into the designer you’re becoming.

HOW DOES THIS MEMBERSHIP WORK?

MONTHLY FORMAT

At the beginning of each month a new garden design topic is released. Content is shared the following ways:

Garden Design Guide (a pretty PDF)

An Educational Video (or other engaging content)

Simple Design Activity

Live MeetUp

An Awesome Community (This includes all sorts of design topics, plus you can share your designs for feedback from peers)

- BONUSES -

I often ask guest speakers to join us

We include a BOOK CLUB topic once a year if you're someone that likes to keep up with contemporary ideas in landscape design

We also have a TEMPLATE LIBRARY full of graphic templates that you can trace or use as inspiration in your own designs

A GROWING LIBRARY OF DESIGN KNOWLEDGE

As a member, you’ll explore many garden design topics over time...one each month. To keep things organized (and easy to revisit), we group topics into broader categories that reflect the major themes of garden design.

The categories below give you a sense of the ground we’ll cover. Each month’s topic will be more specific and practical, but everything fits into this larger framework. As the membership grows, so will this library...expanding into a rich, evolving resource you can return to again and again. Just like your own design journey, these categories may shift and deepen over time. That’s part of the creative process.

THE START OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Once you join, you will have access to the entire membership area. This includes the welcome section, online community, and DESIGN LIBRARY. You'll also fill out a questionnaire so I can learn about you + help with preparation of future materials.

All members are invited to meet with me in a smaller group at the start of your membership, so I can learn about your design journey and so you can also meet a few of your peers right away.

Our current members in THE GARDEN DESIGN COLLECTIVE are excited to meet you. They are currently learning about THE BLOCKING METHOD (that's the June topic!), so you're welcome to jump in and get oriented as we discuss this fun way to organize plants. There is no pressure about "getting caught up". Remember, this pace is slow and steady. Take in what you need as a designer and enjoy the discussions.

The Garden Design Collective has been a valuable source of inspiration and community to me as I continue in my garden design journey. I highly recommend it whether you are a new designer who is just starting out or a seasoned designer who is looking to invigorate your design skills and be inspired.

Becky Gross, Nuthatch Garden Design
Beaverton, Oregon

ln this membership, you'll learn so much in a supportive environment, and meet some truly talented designers that freely share their knowledge and experiences. I don't think you'll find anything else as fun and informative as the Garden Design Collective.
