2025 LANDSCAPE PROJECT GUIDE: BEST LANDSCAPE PLANS

To kick-off 2025 Monrovia Nursery kindly asked me to create five garden plans for their newest online publication: BEST LANDSCAPE PLANS...and I'm thrilled to share them with you.

This is how our partnership works: the super-talented Monrovia staff provide a potential plant palette (from their amazing collection), plus an overall concept for each design. I then develop a garden room that showcases both the plant materials and theme. It's super fun and I feel fortunate for the opportunity to create garden dreams for all of us. 

FIVE DESIGN THEMES

BEST LANDSCAPE PLANS showcases the five design themes listed below. The themes and text were developed by Monrovia Nursery. 

• Modern Meadow // Creating a natural, carefree style without giving up well-behaved, long-blooming performance.
• Romancing the Edible Garden // This trend toward nostalgia and romance is evolving as it blends with the productivity of edible and pollinator plants in the garden.
• Bold Color + Calm White // A pop of intense hues bring energy to the garden, while the contrasting white and calming evergreen softens the color scheme to deliver an undercurrent of calm.
• Hummingbird Oasis // Interest in hummingbirds is soaring, inspiring more gardeners to plant gardens that attract these tiny, vibrant visitors for an up-close viewing experience.
• Green Drenching // By surrounding outdoor spaces with layers of verdant foliage, gardeners create a sense of serenity and connection to nature.
